I have a special treat for you this morning, Fab Housewives: a guest blog! Marlene Montanez is my dear friend and the brains behind the oh-so-fabulous blog Style Sizzle. She is also my go-to for all things fashion, which is why I am so pleased she’s offered to share a snippet of her expertise with us all today. I know you’ll love her almost as much as I do.  So without further ado, take it away Marlene…

Being a Fab Housewife can be totally exhausting. But being stylish when you travel really doesn’t have to be.

For me, packing somehow becomes an all-out weeklong event. I need to pick the perfect airport outfit, ensure I have all my favorite travel beauty products packed and model each and every outfit in front of the mirror. Accessories included. (Yes, I’m only doing this when the fiancé isn’t home, so he doesn’t think I’m nuts.)

But really, packing doesn’t have to be so complicated. So for your  next vacay, I’m bringing you the ultimate must-have necessities of the season. Whether you’re going on a cruise or looking for tips on what to pack for just about anything, here’s a few things you should definitely stash.

A Hat

I’m thoroughly obsessed with hats as of late. They’re a great way to add a little sass to your outfit. For a great budget buy, try Target which has tons of hip hats right now at really great prices.

Colored Jeans

Colored jeans are easily one of spring 2012′s hottest fashion trends! And they’re easy to pair with just about anything; from white and nude-colored tops and tanks to pretty blouses for a bold colorblocked look, just about anything goes. Plus, you can find them everywhere. Joe’s Jeans has colored denim in a whopping 55 colors!! Of course, you can find plenty of trendy knockoffs at shops like Forever 21, too.

Swimsuits

Well, it wouldn’t be a spring or summer vacation without a swimsuit now would it? While a cute bikini never goes out of fashion, I’m loving the vintage-looking one-pieces like the Norma Kamali yellow one above and the cutout detailing of the Victoria’s Secret white bikini.
