The hubs and I have now returned from our FABULOUS 2 week European vacation, and we’ve brought with us little pieces of Italy and Greece to share with you all.
While in Venice, we became hooked on the Spritz, the official drink of Venice!

Every day starting around noon, glasses of these delectable cocktails would glitter like jewels on pretty much every café patio in the city. You simply can’t go to Venice without trying one. In fact, we loved this relaxing and refreshing tradition so much, the hubs and I decided to bring it home. We will now be sipping our Spritzes by the pool on Saturdays!
The Venetian Spritz
There are 4 types of Venetian Spritz cocktails to choose from, depending on your taste preference. Spritz al’ Aperol is made with Aperol (mandarin orange flavor and the sweetest option), Spritz al Bitter (Campari, which is more woody with berry notes), Spritz with Select (Select Pilla) and Spritz con Cynar (artichoke liquor)
Ingredients
- 2 parts dry white wine, or perhaps something bubbly like Prosecco
- 1 part of the aperitif of choice (Select Pilla, Aperol, Campari, or Cynar)
- splash of mineral water (fizzy or still)
