J.P. and Hawlie in Rome Fab Housewife

In the spirit of the holidays, I thought I’d take a moment to express how thankful I am for my Fab Housewife.  Closing in on our 3rd year of marriage, I have now been able to witness all of the responsibilities that a housewife must fulfill.  I must say that I am amazed at what my wife is able to accomplish in a given day.  I am also very grateful that I don’t have to perform all the duties that she performs every day!  She literally does it all, and does it with style and grace.

Hawlie and I moved out to Los Angeles in June of 2009, mostly for my job, but also to let Hawlie pursue her dream of becoming an on-air Host in the Entertainment Capital of the World of Los Angeles.  Upon arriving in Los Angeles, she immediately found work in order to help subsidize the living expense of living in Los Angeles.  Living in Arizona all our lives, this is a big difference!  Hawlie then found an agent, starting networking, taking hosting classes, and went on auditions for hosting positions during her lunch breaks.  As if that wasn’t enough, she started writing her blog, Fab Housewife as a way to hone in on her brand as a host.  This blog soon began to grow, and Hawlie spent increasingly more time with the blog.   To add even more responsibility, I was working out of town, so Hawlie was the one who did EVERYTHING around the house.  She did all of the shopping, all of the cleaning, taking care of the dog, running the errands around town, preparing dinner, styling and decorating a beautiful apartment, go to her day job, night job, and side job, and keeping herself as beautiful as ever.  Actually, just writing about everything she does is making me tired!  Now that I took a new job in town, I try to help out more, but Hawlie’s responsibilities remain.  She is moving non-stop!

Thank You Fab Housewife

Having witnessed, first-hand, what my wife goes through, makes me appreciate the important role that the housewife plays.  Housewives don’t get the credit they deserve for all that they do.  Although this is just one husband’s opinion, I would like to think I speak for all of the husbands out there in saying “thank you” for all that you do.  You may feel unappreciated in your daily struggles to do it all, but your efforts are definitely recognized (and absolutely appreciated).

Hawlie, I love you, and am so thankful that you are my wife.  You live up to everything that the Fab Housewife label implies.  I hope that you continue to grow your blog and inspire ever more women to take pride in their role of the housewife, and achieve everything that they want to outside of their demanding responsibilities at home.

Love,

The Hubs

Peggy, thanks so much for all your support. 35 years are an inspiration! Also, congratulations on becoming a soon-to-be fab grandma, too (you should start your own Fab Grandma blog)! We are so excited for Nick and Katie and your whole family. What a blessing!
