I recently discovered a clothing line that I have literally fallen in LOVE with! Designer label, KOKOON, is a ”modern-day pop-up boutique” with a unique take on how to appeal to their buyers. They provide an exclusive shopping experience from the comfort of home, and the cherry on top, a much-needed Girls’ Night In!
I’ve now hosted a KOKOON trunk show, worked with several of the KOKOON employees, worn the clothes, washed the clothes, and lusted after even MORE clothes, all of which has been a wonderful and easy process from beginning to end.
It’s very rare that I come across a product or company that truly encompasses the message of The Fab Life of a Housewife (“all about staying you, even after saying I do!”), and I have to say, without a doubt, KOKOON fits that bill 100%.
The Trunk Show: The company’s business model is like that of other “home shopping party” companies (i.e. Mary Kay or Pampered Chef), where women can shop and view the products in an at-home setting. But I have to be honest… I tend to HATE those parties! I hate the sales pitch (particularly when you’re only attending the party to support the girlfriend who’s hosting), I hate feeling pressure to buy something I don’t need or want, and I especially hate when they try to lure me into hosting my own party!
All of that is precisely why I love KOKOON. Their trunk shows remove everything I despise about the other parties, and focus on showcasing their ever-changing line of clothing- no presentations, no sales pitches, no recruiting tactics.
Ok, I know what you’re thinking because it’s exactly what I was thinking too: RIIIIIIIIGHT. But I decided to put KOKOON to the test by holding my own trunk show, and found they truly stick to what their business model claims. The entire evening was all about quality time with girlfriends, trying on clothes, raving about how beautiful we all looked, and enjoying the rare time we have to socialize and shop. Even my job as the hostess was easy-breezy. I simply set out a few snacks, including an assorted cheese platter, bacon-wrapped dates, chicken skewers with peanut dipping sauce, and French Macaroons with Swiss Buttercream filling. I also provided the obligatory libations of wine and sangria. After all, you can’t have a Girls Night without some yummy cocktails! Everything was prepared ahead of time, allowing me to join my friends in all the fun!
Best of all, the hostess benefits are AMAZING. Hostesses earn 10% of the sales towards free clothes, and she never has to buy more than that (unless, of course, she wants too!). She also gets 30% off anything else she purchases, and if her show exceeds $1000 (the average is $2000), she gets 30% off for the next 6 months!
The Clothes: Most regularly-priced KOKOON dresses, tops, skirts and pants range from $46- $168. They are made from high quality, comfortable, soft and luxurious fabrics. The darling aqua blue KOKOON maxi dress I wore the night of my trunk show is so comfortable, I could seriously sleep in it. Most of the clothes are also wrinkle-resistant; I mean, who has time to iron anymore?!

In fact, knowing we would be pulling all the clothes out of trunks, I had my steamer ready, just in case, but it wasn’t even needed. That means KOKOON clothes are also great for vacations and seasonal storage. During the trunk show, it didn’t take long for me to realize why KOKOON doesn’t rely on sales pitches- they don’t need to! Their clothes literally sell themselves. And once you’ve selected your favorite items, ordering is also easy. You will get your brand new, pieces, shipped right to your home for a flat-rate $5fee.
Becoming a Rep: Being a KOKOON sales rep is a GREAT gig! These women are constantly meeting and networking with other women in their area, they get work in fashion (which so many of us can only dream about), and their schedules are flexible. The fact that they also have insider access to the newest KOKOON items is an added bonus. Reps for KOKOON earn 20% commission on all their sales, and right now, KOKOON is virtually unknown—there are only 75 sales reps throughout the country! That means TONS of opportunity for growth.
There is also minimal investment required for becoming a rep- between $250-$500 for basic “Core Collection” items. Sample sets of the new, always-changing items, are on loan from KOKOON, and are free to the reps, along with all order forms, invites, marketing materials and credit card processing fees. We all know, careers as a wife and/or mommy are demanding, challenging and wonderful, but I also find that women who have things that are completely their own, tend to feel more fulfilled. Working as a KOKOON rep could be a great option if you’d like to work out of the house, but are also juggling family and time commitments.
