I love Fridays

Oh, and also…

1920s frenchbydesign weekend Fab Housewife

Since most of this past week was spent feeling like I could barely keep my head above water, I am so grateful to have the next few days to play a little catch-up, but mostly just chill out.

If it feels like I’ve been a bit MIA, don’t worry. I’ve been hard at work on some DIYs and fashion projects that I can’t wait to reveal to you all over the next few weeks. I also got to spend some time this week meeting my new baby niece, just two weeks old. Tuesday, the hubs and I drove down the coast to Newport Beach so we could see the little angel. Even though taking a day off at the beginning of the week meant putting lots of work on hold, I can’t think of a better way to have spent our time. I am so excited to see that little girl again in a few weeks!

Another highlight was shopping at a very cool, sort-of underground retail shop, Excess Baggage. The store’s founder, Haylee, invited me to check out the penthouse showroom in Studio City to play dress-up. I had a fantastic time sipping champagne and trying on designer clothes, marked down below retail, and even came home with some fabulous goodies. The Galena Scarf Sweater by One Gray Day was my favorite, along with the most comfy pair of ripped boyfriend skinnies by See Thru Soul. And when I eyed the Olive and Oak Prep sweater, which I now refer to as my “grandpa sweater,” I couldn’t resist.

As for the coming weekend, the hubs is away on a boys trip to the mountains, and I’ve got a date with some shades of gray. 50 of them, to be precise….
