fab gifts: vintage housewife sign - your husband calledEvery fab housewife needs a night out with just the girls, from time to time. And we all know a girls-night-out and shopping, are about as obvious a combo as living and breathing. Several times a year, my girlfriends and I look forward to Shecky’s Girls-Night-Out: an event where we preview (and buy) the latest in fashion and beauty products, enjoy delectable drinks, and snag an amazing goodie bag, loaded with all kinds of treasures. It’s all put on by sheckys.com, a website/blog all about creating “social experiences that empower and reward women to discover and socialize with their girlfriends.” We attended the event earlier this month, and I have been meaning to blog about it for weeks. Turns out, the timing may actually be perfect, as many of you may still be searching for some last minute holiday gifts. Below you’ll find our favorite things we found at Shecky’s. Hopefully at least one of them will be exactly what you need to finish off your list.

#3 Gift Idea: Hand CandyHand Candies at Shecky's Girls-Night-OutThey’re a treat for your skin…without the calories!!! These Hand Candies were so dang cute, we wanted to eat them up. Obviously, that wouldn’t be a good idea, since they are soap, afterall. But we just loved the fact that they are made from all-natural products, including sea salt, and can be used on your hands, or as an exfoliating body scrub in the shower. At $2 a pop, they’re the perfect gift for any budget!

#2 Gift Idea: Jewelry Jewelry at Shecky's Girls-Night-OutWell, duh. What did you expect? Whether it’s fashion or fine, jewelry is a great gift for a woman, because it’s not the sort of thing she typically buys for herself. If you’re looking for something for your book club, your neighbor, your girlfriend, or your sister, jewelry is a perfect solution. Our favorite trends from Shecky’s include (from image above, left to right):

Natural Stones: All four of us gasped aloud when we saw the gorgeous necklace pictured at the left. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you where to get it, because the vendor was out of business cards, and even though I signed up for the mailing list, I haven’t received an email yet :(. I can tell you, that just about any woman would be thrilled to own a necklace like this one. The natural stones alongside brushed gold is chic and timeless, while the chunky pendant is hip and modern. A definite winner!

Leaves!: Whether they’re real or fake, leaves were everywhere at Shecky’s- in necklaces, earings, and bracelets, and in just about any color you can think of. They were my top-pick, and I even purchased one for myself: a real leaf, dipped in white gold. Sometimes it’s okay to buy a little gift for yourself too, I say!

Accent Necklaces: Adorned in crystals and gemstones, the accent necklace is very on-trend this season. It also jazzes up a simple outfit and glamorizes your LBD for the holidays. If recipient loves jewelry, you can’t go wrong with an accent piece.

#1 Gift Idea: liaMolly SweaterLiaMolly at Shecky's Girls-Night-OutThe liaMolly sweaters were just as gorgeous when we tried them on, as they were on the hangers. They were, by far, our very favorite vendor at Shecky’s. In fact, my friend Cynthia bought 3! When I got home and googled the company, I realized liaMolly is even better than I imagined. The sweater collection is timeless, and the New Orleans-based company is community-focused, as well:

“Impassioned by a recovering New Orleans, liaMolly supports sustaining local communities and developing earth-friendly, organic practices. We draw from the creative energy found in collaborating with local artists and craftsmen – aspiring to humanize fashion and elevate comfort clothes to the sublime – buttery yarns and heirloom accents. We want our sweaters to be affordable and to be sold in neighborhood boutiques so that people can grow their local economies.”

Great tips for last minute shopping :) I was going to browse some local shops (avoiding the malls at all costs!) today, now you’ve given us all some ideas.
    ~Merry Christmas~
