Being a Fab Housewife means nurturing hobbies and passions that are all your own, aside from caring for a family and home. Well, I’ve discovered a new hobby, as of late. Vintage treasure hunting!
Ok, so truth be told, I’ve always enjoyed vintage shopping, or “junking,” as some of you like to call it. But now, my fellow Fab Housewife friend, Jaime, and I, are taking it to a whole new level. We spent yet another weekend digging through garages and storage sheds, only to uncover the most lovely 22 karat gold demitasse tea set. The inside of the tea cups are also lined in the same gorgeous gold, which is my favorite part. The set was made in Bavaria, and is marked with the words “RWS Karlsbader Dekorationsarbetten Bavaria” on the bottom of each piece.
Jaime and I discovered the stunner in Sun City, California, a little area outside of Temecula, which is home to an assortment of retirement communities. In other words, a vintage-hunter’s playground. We both swooned the moment we saw it, and it could easily claim the number one spot on our favorite finds of the day list.
This set, along with all the rest of our antique and vintage collections (and even some vintage-inspired creations of our own) will soon be for sale in a new Etsy shop, Patina Bee. Be sure to stop by and check it out in the next week or two, as we’ll be slowly organizing and posting our inventory.

what a great find! love the design. nice work!
