Hello, hello! I hope everyone’s week is getting off to a great start– mine sure is! As you all know, I’ve been on the hunt for a fab Moroccan rug for months. I’ve been crazy about them ever since I blogged about the Moroccan rug trend back in February. But since the one I loved priced out at $1,500, I couldn’t justify making my Moroccan dream a reality. Until this weekend, when I literally stumbled over one at an estate sale. A measly $12 later, the vintage rug was mine. I couldn’t believe my luck! All it needs is a little cleaning, and we’re in business. No stains or rips to speak of.
My little Belle was kind enough to model it for you. She loves how soft it is, and the hubs and I love the homey feel it brings to our hallway.
According to its label, my carpet was made in 1981 in the city of Meknes. It is a “Moyen Atlas” design, measuring 27.5″ by 55.5″ (not including the tassles). The quality reads “superieure,” though I’m not entirely sure what that means. The highest quality Moroccan rugs are categorized as “Extra Superieur,” and I don’t know where mine stands in relation. If any of you have any more info on my rug, let me know! Regardless, I’m pretty certain I got a bargain. And when I walk on it, boy do my bare feet feel cozy!
