Waiting to the last minute when it comes to costumes, usually ends in disaster. The pumpkin patch, however, is an entirely different story, especially if, like me, you’re less interested in carving pumpkins and more into the fabulous deals on DIY project supplies. I pleasantly discovered this today, as J.P. and I enjoyed our Fall pumpkin patch date that we’ve been planning for a couple weeks now, but never found the time for. Turns out, our timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Getting a Deal at the Pumpkin Patch
With just one day to clear out his inventory, the pumpkin patch vendor was literally giving things away. $20 snagged us admission to the patch (typical for Weho/Bev Hills), 2 pie pumpkins for 4 pies (different from the Jack O’Lantern variety, as they are smaller and sweeter, thus requiring less sugar in your pie recipe), 10 petrified corn cobs with husks ($1 each, for the budget centerpieces I’ll be blogging about soon!), and an assortment of gourds (for free!!) to scatter about or use as vase filler, and best of all, and wonderful date with my husband! It was the perfect way to spend our Halloween morning, and by the time we left, my head was swimming with ideas for all the DIY projects I am planning to try with my new-found Fall goodies. I’m thinking tomorrow may be an even better day for deals, and I’m planning on stopping by again in the morning, before the patch retires for the season.

Can’t wait to see what you do with all of those goodies!!! What a great deal!!
