When your home has limited outdoor space, much of your gardening and outdoor decor must be brought above ground. Lately I’ve been particularly drawn to window boxes, and their effortless ability to add charm and color, not just to the exterior of your home, but to the inside, as well. Bright, beautiful flowers create a lovely view out the window. And in my case, a few feet of foliage also offers added depth and privacy without diminishing the light.

And since my thumb is more black than green, I’ll likely be taking some tips from these awesome window box recipes from BHG. They offer easy-maintenance boxes for sunny windows, or shady ones.





















I love overflowing window boxes, and I see them in beautiful gardens all over starting in April. As long as you maintain them, and keep them cleaned out once they get unbalanced, you can maintain a good collection of color added to the front of your house.
