Art is expensive. Even bad art. So, when you’re a Fab Housewife decorating on a budget, you have to get creative.
A few weeks ago during an online shopping spree, I found some darling screen printed dish towels at One Sydney Road, that I just loved. Coincidentally, I was in the market for dish towels, so I was thrilled when I opened them up on Christmas morning. Okay…so maybe I wrapped them and filled out the gift tag for myself, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right?

Anyway, turns out the towels are way too cute to clean with, so I decided to turn them into some fun wall art. I made a quick trip to Aaron Brothers, where the sales guy tried to pitch me on $280 custom frames, complete with UV glass (did I mention art is expensive?). “Do it the right way cus you’re gonna have it forever,” he said. To which I was all, “Seriously?? They’re dish towels.” $27 dollars later, I had 2 of their pre-packaged 16 x 20 frames (complete with the cheap glass), thanks to their penny sale (buy one frame, get the 2nd for a penny), which is going on for the rest of the month.
Devour Wall Art in the living room (hubs loves it!)…
Cook wall art in the kitchen…
The funny thing is, I still need new dish towels. But my walls look fabulous.
