85 and sunny in L.A. today, and I’m thinking some fun metallic wedges are just the ticket to pull me out of my June gloom haze. Thankfully, my oh-so beauty-savvy friend Marissa was looking out for me almost a month ago, when she introduced me to Minx- a new glammy alternative to traditional nail polish.
To me, neglected feet are tacky and disgusting, which is unfortunate since I really don’t have the time to touch up my tootsies every week. Quite honestly, I’m not sure if Marissa was hinting that my own disgusting, neglected feet were bordering on offensive, or if she was just in the mood for some girl time. Either way, I’m so glad we went!
Minx comes in lots of colors and patterns…
Minx is a foil, applied to your toenails with light heat from a lamp. Mine cost about $70, and it’s said to last about six weeks. Rumor also has it, the Minx foil won’t damage your nails, or create that icky yellow tint that polish does…especially if, like me, your idea of doing it yourself is to slap on a quick coat to hide the old, chipping stuff (Remover? Base coat? What’s that?). Apparently, it’s a hot craze here in Hollywood, which means every trend-follower will be rocking the Minx this summer.

Now, I must apologize to you all for the next pictures. I am just so impressed with how well my toes stood up to all that barefoot cleaning, all those toe-crunching stilettos, and the numerous paint-covered DIY projects from the past several weeks! My taste tends to lean more toward natural, girly colors like nudes and blushes, but the metallic leopard is definitely a fun way to spice it up every now and again. It also looks fab with my sassy Betsey Johnson glitter kitten heels, what do you think?

Hawlie, your toes are FAB!! Nothing like a little leopard on your tootsies! Great post.
