The week before Thanksgiving, the hubs and I bought a used dining set from craigslist. We needed something to fit the limited space in the dining room (thanks to my gigantic china cabinet), but something that would also accomodate guests. I do love a dinner party, after all!
The table we found was just perfect! A counter-height square that seats 4, with a removable leaf to accomodate up to 8. Turned legs, solid wood, and stained a rich espresso, the $200 price tag was a steal.
The chairs, on the other hand, leave much to be desired. Don’t get me wrong, they’re full of potential, but the raffia-covered seats just scream tacky. It’s a good thing I love to DIY, because these chairs could be so beautiful after a simple seat makeover! Now I’m making plans and getting inspired. Here are some dining chair looks I’m loving…
1. Waterloo Dining Chair- Z Gallerie, $289
2. Copperleaf Chair- Anthropologie, $400
3. Louis Side Chair- Pottery Barn, $350
4. Max Dining Chair Blue- Urban Home, $129
5. Purple Damask Dining Chair- Pier 1, $180
